The Secure Tracks Act amends title 49 of the United States Code to establish requirements for visual and automated track inspections. It mandates that qualified inspectors conduct visual inspections on main line tracks operating at Class 3 speeds or higher at least twice a week. Automated Track Geometry Measurement System (TGMS) inspections must occur at varying frequencies based on track classification and gross tonnage.
