H.R.7781

Parity for Tribal Educators Act

Introduced·3/3/26

The Parity for Tribal Educators Act makes tribal school employees eligible for federal pensions and savings plans.

The Parity for Tribal Educators Act ensures that employees of tribally controlled schools can receive a pension under the Federal Employees Retirement System and participate in the Thrift Savings Plan. These schools must operate under a contract with the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act or a grant under the Tribally Controlled Schools Act of 1988. The Bureau of Indian Affairs will handle the government contributions for these pensions. Employees have the option to opt out of this coverage.
