Reserve Forces Travel Fairness Act reimburses members of the uniformed services for vehicle rental costs related to reserve training or duty over 150.
The Reserve Forces Travel Fairness Act amends title 37 of the United States Code to ensure members of the uniformed services receive reimbursement for vehicle rental costs incurred during reserve component inactive-duty training or Ready Reserve muster duty, if the travel distance exceeds 150 miles from their permanent residence. This includes costs for the entire training period and travel days before or after. The Secretary of Defense must update the Joint Travel Regulations within 180 days of the Act's enactment to reflect these changes.
