LOVE Act establishes an 8-year Medicare demonstration program to fund training for living kidney donor transplant facilitators.

The LOVE Act, or Living Organ Volunteer Engagement Act, amends the Social Security Act to create an 8-year demonstration program. This program will provide payment under the Medicare program for training individuals to assist kidney transplant patients in identifying living donors and navigating the donation process. The Secretary of Health and Human Services will oversee the program, which will pay eligible hospitals for the costs of operating these training programs.
