The PETSAFE Act of 2026 amends the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act of 2006 and the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to enhance emergency preparedness and response efforts for companion animals. It allows states, local, and tribal governments to use grant funds for activities supporting companion animals, including purchasing collapsible crates, mobile equipment trailers, pet supplies, veterinary supplies, emergency sheltering equipment, generators, disaster response software, training, animal response teams, and field rescue equipment.
