The Protecting Local Zoos Act of 2026 amends the Lacey Act Amendments of 1981 to adjust provisions relating to captive wildlife offenses. It modifies the definition of "prohibited wildlife species" to exclude snow leopards and clouded leopards, and their hybrids. The bill also allows entities in compliance with certain requirements to export or import prohibited wildlife species to or from foreign entities authorized to operate in their respective countries.
