Permits U.S. territories and commonwealths to provide statues for the National Statuary Hall Collection.
The Equality in the Halls of Congress Act allows the territories and commonwealths of the United States to provide and furnish statues to the National Statuary Hall Collection. This includes American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands. The Architect of the Capitol will manage the acquisition of these statues. This change amends the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2001 to include these territories and commonwealths under the term 'State' for this purpose.
