The Protecting Supplemental Security Income for Disaster Victims Act amends title XVI of the Social Security Act to ensure stability in payments to Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries. It disregards certain payments received in settlement of claims of personal injury, physical sickness, or damage to property, including those related to the East Palestine Train Derailment. The amendments apply to benefits payable for months beginning on or after the date of enactment, except for benefits paid for months beginning before the enactment in the case of the specified settlement.
