Introduced·12/10/25

Loan Equity for Advanced Professionals Act amends the Higher Education Act to equalize loan limits for graduate and professional students.

The Loan Equity for Advanced Professionals Act amends the Higher Education Act of 1965 to ensure that graduate and professional students have the same annual and aggregate limits for Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans. Beginning July 1, 2026, the maximum annual loan amount for these students will be $50,000, and the maximum aggregate loan amount will be $200,000. This change aims to provide equity in borrowing limits for advanced education.
