Combatting China’s Pilfering of Intellectual Property Act imposes sanctions on Chinese entities and individuals involved in intellectual property.

The Combatting China’s Pilfering of Intellectual Property Act imposes sanctions on individuals and entities in China involved in significant theft of intellectual property from U.S. persons. It includes asset blocking and prohibits transactions in property of sanctioned individuals. The President can waive sanctions on a case-by-case basis if it is in the national security interest of the U.S. The Act also restricts visas for senior Chinese Communist Party officials and their families.
