SAWMILL Act Supporting American Wood and Mill Infrastructure with Loans for Longevity Act

Establishes a loan guarantee program for wood-processing facilities near high-priority federal lands for ecological restoration.

The SAWMILL Act creates a Timber Production Expansion Guaranteed Loan Program. The Secretary of Agriculture, in coordination with the Secretary of the Interior, will provide loan guarantees to eligible entities for sawmills or wood-processing facilities within 250 miles of federal lands identified as high or very high priority for ecological restoration involving vegetation removal. The program aims to decrease the cost of ecological restoration projects. The maximum amount of loan guarantees is set at $220,000,000.
