Expands Medicare coverage to include medical nutrition therapy for multiple chronic conditions.
The Medical Nutrition Therapy Act of 2025 amends title XVIII of the Social Security Act to expand Medicare coverage for medical nutrition therapy services. Currently, Medicare Part B beneficiaries can only receive these services for diabetes or renal disease. This bill extends coverage to include obesity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, malnutrition, eating disorders, cancer, gastrointestinal diseases, HIV, AIDS, cardiovascular disease, and any other diseases or conditions specified by the Secretary related to unintentional weight loss.
