The Geothermal Energy Advancement Act creates a Geothermal Ombudsman and a Geothermal Permitting Task Force within the Bureau of Land Management. The Ombudsman will act as a liaison between the Bureau and applicants for geothermal authorizations, provide dispute resolution services, and coordinate with the Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council. The Task Force, led by the Ombudsman, will support these duties and may assign personnel from relevant Department bureaus and offices to assist with geothermal authorizations.
