Katie Meyer’s Law mandates higher education institutions to provide advisers for students facing conduct violations.

Katie Meyer’s Law requires institutions of higher education to adopt a policy for providing advisers to students who receive notifications of alleged conduct violations. The adviser can be an outside adviser selected by the student or an independent adviser provided by the institution. Advisers must be trained on adjudication procedures, receive bi-weekly updates with student permission, and participate in the adjudication process as an advocate or as authorized by state law and Title IX.
