The Chloe Cole Act prohibits health care professionals, hospitals, or clinics from participating in the chemical or surgical mutilation of a child. It allows children or their parents to bring a civil action against those who participate in such acts. The act defines chemical or surgical mutilation as intentionally halting the natural development of a child's body or changing their body to no longer correspond to their sex. Exceptions include medically necessary procedures for certain conditions.
