Humane Transport of Farmed Animals Act prohibits interstate movement of unfit livestock.

The Humane Transport of Farmed Animals Act amends the Animal Health Protection Act and title 49, United States Code, to prohibit the interstate movement of livestock deemed unfit to travel. The Secretary of Transportation must develop an enforcement mechanism to investigate and inspect animal transport. Livestock are considered unfit if they are sick, injured, unable to stand, blind, or in other conditions causing suffering. Exceptions are made for livestock moved for veterinary care.
