Introduced·9/10/25

Federal HB5263 mandates the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to approve any federal manufactured home construction and safety standards.

Federal HB5263 amends the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to grant the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development primary authority over federal manufactured home construction and safety standards. Any federal agency proposing such standards must submit a proposal to the Secretary for approval. The Secretary can reject standards that significantly increase production costs or conflict with existing standards. The bill does not require the Secretary to establish new or revised standards.
