Transitions Puerto Rico to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
The Puerto Rico Nutrition Assistance Fairness Act amends the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to transition the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It requires the Commonwealth to submit a plan of operation to the Secretary of Agriculture within 180 days of designating an agency. The Secretary must approve the plan if it meets the requirements for a supplemental nutrition assistance program State plan. If the Secretary does not approve the plan, they must provide a statement specifying the requirements not satisfied.
