The Stop Greenlighting Driver Licenses for Illegal Immigrants Act restricts federal grants for states that issue driver licenses to individuals without proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful presence. States must also share immigration enforcement information with the Department of Homeland Security. Non-compliant states must return any unobligated Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program funds and remain ineligible for future funds until they comply.
