The Reducing Hereditary Cancer Act amends the Social Security Act to expand Medicare coverage. It includes hereditary cancer genetic testing for individuals with a family history of hereditary cancer gene mutations or a personal or family history suspicious for hereditary cancer. The bill also provides coverage for certain preventive surgeries and evidence-based screenings for individuals with a germline mutation associated with a high risk of developing preventable cancer. The changes apply to items and services furnished on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
