Introduced·7/23/25

Loggers Economic Assistance and Relief Act provides payments to timber businesses affected by major disasters.

The Loggers Economic Assistance and Relief Act establishes a payment program for timber harvesting and hauling businesses that experience a significant loss in gross revenue due to major disasters. Payments are equal to 10 percent of the gross revenue lost during a 30-day period or quarter compared to the same period the previous year. Eligible entities must certify that payments will be used for operating expenses. The Secretary of Agriculture, through the Farm Service Agency, administers the program, with an authorized appropriation of $50,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2026 to 2029.
