Strengthens protections for domestic violence and stalking survivors by expanding definitions and penalties.
The Strengthening Protections for Domestic Violence and Stalking Survivors Act of 2025 amends title 18, United States Code, to redefine "intimate partner" to include someone with whom there is or was a dating relationship. It also expands the definition of "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" to include offenses against children of dating partners. Additionally, it introduces a new category for misdemeanor crimes of stalking, which involve a course of harassment, intimidation, or surveillance.
