Increases grants to combat domestic violence for states that require domestic violence prevention training in cosmetologist and barber licensing.
The SALONS Stories Act amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to increase grants to combat domestic violence for states that implement domestic violence prevention training in the cosmetologist and barber licensing process. This training, provided at no cost to individuals, focuses on recognizing, responding to, and referring victims of domestic violence. States can receive a grant increase for up to three years, with a maximum annual increase of 10 percent of the average of the last three grants awarded.
