The Geothermal Cost-Recovery Authority Act of 2025 amends the Geothermal Steam Act of 1970 to provide the Department of the Interior with the authority to recover costs from geothermal lease applicants and holders. This includes costs related to processing applications, inspections, and monitoring activities. The Secretary of the Interior may require reimbursement for costs incurred from the construction, operation, termination, and reclamation of geothermal well sites or facilities. The Secretary must consider existing cooperative cost-sharing agreements before requiring reimbursement.
