Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act of 2025

Introduced·6/4/25

Repeals the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act and allows gun trace information to be used in civil proceedings.

The Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act of 2025 repeals certain provisions of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, making the Firearms Trace System database maintained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives discoverable and admissible in civil proceedings. This change allows the data to be used as evidence in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings.
