The Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization Act of 2025 amends title 28, United States Code, to establish 18-year terms for Supreme Court justices. Each justice appointed after the enactment of this act will serve for 18 years before retiring. The President can only appoint justices during the first and third years following a Presidential election. Once confirmed by the Senate, an individual can only serve one 18-year term.
