Goldie’s Act amends the Animal Welfare Act to enhance enforcement against violations.

Goldie’s Act amends the Animal Welfare Act to increase enforcement against violations by requiring the Secretary of Agriculture to determine if any dealer, exhibitor, intermediate handler, carrier, research facility, or operator of an auction sale has violated the Act. The Secretary must inspect and investigate these entities and their premises, animals, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and other properties. The Act mandates that any animal found suffering physical or psychological harm due to non-compliance must be confiscated or destroyed humanely.
