Honoring our K9 Heroes Act establishes a grant program for medical care for retired Federal working dogs.

The Honoring our K9 Heroes Act amends the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to create a grant program for medical care for retired Federal working dogs. The Secretary of Homeland Security will establish this program, allowing eligible entities to cover a portion of the dogs' medical expenses. Eligible entities must be tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Code, provide medical care for retired Federal law enforcement and military working dogs, and have at least two years of experience in this area. The bill authorizes $1,000,000 annually for fiscal years 2026 through 2030 to fund the program.
