REHIRE Act provides hiring preference to career Federal employees involuntarily removed from the civil service.

The Restoring Employment and Hiring Incentives for Removed Employees Act, or REHIRE Act, grants hiring preference to career Federal employees who were involuntarily removed from the civil service between January 1, 2025, and January 1, 2027. These employees are deemed preference eligible for appointments to positions in the competitive service and are entitled to 5 additional points above their earned rating for purposes of section 3309 of title 5, United States Code.
