The Canadian Snowbird Act amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to allow Canadian citizens aged 50 or older to visit the U.S. as long-term visitors for pleasure. These visitors must maintain a residence in Canada, own or rent a U.S. residence for their stay, and not engage in employment or seek U.S. benefits. The spouse of a qualifying Canadian retiree can also be admitted under the same terms. The bill also modifies the Internal Revenue Code to clarify the nonresident alien tax status of these visitors.
