The Council will include federal officials, victims, and victim assistance professionals. Its duties include assessing the needs of gun violence victims, promoting resources, and identifying best practices. The Council will disseminate information to victims, professionals, and government entities. It will also prepare and publish reports on best practices and gaps in resources. The Council will terminate five years after the Act's enactment.
