Nutrition CARE Act of 2025 Nutrition Counseling Aiding Recovery for Eating Disorders Act of 2025

Introduced·3/31/25

Nutrition CARE Act of 2025 aims to provide Medicare coverage for medical nutrition therapy services for individuals with eating disorders.

The Nutrition CARE Act of 2025 seeks to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to include coverage of medical nutrition therapy services for individuals with eating disorders under the Medicare program. Currently, Medicare does not cover such services at outpatient, intensive outpatient, or residential treatment levels. The bill specifies that these services must be furnished by a registered dietitian or nutrition professional, and require a referral from a physician or psychologist.
