The Cellphone Jamming Reform Act of 2025 permits state and federal correctional facilities to operate jamming systems to prevent, jam, or interfere with wireless communications from or to contraband devices within the facility. The operation of these systems is restricted to the housing facilities of the correctional facility. If the facility is a state correctional facility, the state must fund the entire cost of the system. The facility must consult with local law enforcement and public safety officials before implementing the system and notify the Director of the Bureau of Prisons.
