The Board of Veterans’ Appeals Attorney Retention and Backlog Reduction Act aims to reform and enhance the pay of Board of Veterans’ Appeals attorneys. This is intended to improve recruitment and retention, as well as increase the quality of decisions and speed of claims processing. The bill allows non-supervisory attorneys employed by the Board to be promoted to grade GS–15 of the General Schedule, providing better career opportunities.
