Physician Led and Rural Access to Quality Care Act revises physician self-referral exemptions for physician-owned hospitals.

The Physician Led and Rural Access to Quality Care Act amends the Social Security Act to modify physician self-referral exemptions for physician-owned hospitals. It excludes certain rural hospitals from these exemptions and allows for the expansion of existing physician-owned hospitals. The bill defines a "covered rural hospital" as one located in a rural area and more than 35 miles from another hospital or critical access hospital, or 15 miles in areas with mountainous terrain or limited road access.
