The Modern WIC Act of 2025 amends the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to enhance the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) by allowing remote certifications and evaluations. State agencies can now offer appointments for WIC participation via telephone, video technology, or other formats that permit two-way, real-time interactive communications. Nutritional risk evaluations must be completed within 90 days of certification. The bill also allows for temporary eligibility without delaying certification until a nutritional risk evaluation is made.
