Alerts victims of domestic violence when offenders attempt to acquire firearms.
The Domestic Violence Survivors Alerted For Emergency Notice Act establishes a system to notify victims of domestic violence when offenders attempt to acquire firearms. Victims can register to receive notifications if the offender is convicted of a domestic violence offense or under indictment for such an offense. The system will notify victims if a background check denies a firearm purchase due to a domestic violence offense or court order. The system will also notify victims if a firearm is transferred to the offender or if the offender is arrested for attempting to acquire a firearm.
