Ms. Jayapal (for herself, Ms. Tlaib, Ms. Pressley, Mr. Casar, Ms. Chu, Mr. McGovern, Ms. Norton, Mrs. Ramirez, and Ms. Schakowsky) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned

A BILL

To prohibit biometric surveillance by the Federal Government without explicit statutory authorization and to withhold certain Federal public safety grants from State and local governments that engage in biometric surveillance.
