Prohibits VA from hiring or retaining employees who knowingly committed fraud involving federal funds.

The VA Hiring Integrity Act of 2026 amends title 38, United States Code, to prohibit the appointment or retention of Department of Veterans Affairs employees who knowingly committed fraud involving federal funds. This includes those with a criminal conviction for fraud, theft, embezzlement, bribery, kickbacks, false statements, conspiracy to commit such offenses, or similar crimes involving federal funds. It also applies to those with a final civil judgment establishing liability under the False Claims Act or exclusion from federal health care programs.
