The Health Care Accountability Mission Act of 2026 amends title XVIII of the Social Security Act to establish a civil monetary penalty for certain hospitals that fail to comply with requirements, where such failure immediately jeopardizes the health or safety of patients. The Secretary of Health and Human Services may impose a penalty of up to $10,000 for each day of ongoing failure. The Secretary must also make determinations and findings publicly available on a CMS website.
