The Oversight Access Act prohibits the Secretary of Homeland Security from preventing Members of Congress or their staff from entering any Department of Homeland Security facility used to detain or house aliens, for oversight purposes. It also prohibits requiring prior notice for such entries and making any temporary modifications that would alter observations by visiting Members or their staff. The DHS Inspector General must report to Congress if the Secretary fails to comply with these requirements.
