The Virtual-Based Opioid Treatment for Veterans Act establishes a pilot program by the Department of Veterans Affairs to expand access to virtual-based opioid treatment for covered veterans. The program includes outreach, referral networks, a public awareness campaign, and an interagency task force. If effective, the Secretary may extend the program. The Secretary must also study and report on barriers to treatment for substance use disorder.
