The Ensuring OB–GYN Care in Prisons Act requires the Bureau of Prisons to employ at least one full-time obstetrician-gynecologist at each facility housing female prisoners. These specialists must provide comprehensive care, including menstrual health, contraception, prenatal, postpartum, and cancer screenings. Female prisoners must receive an initial visit within 14 days of incarceration and have the right to informed consent and communication in their preferred language. The Director must report annually on service access and outcomes, including high-risk pregnancies and related deaths.
