The Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention Act of 2025 amends title XVIII of the Social Security Act to include Medicare coverage for blood-based dementia screening tests. This Act defines Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias early detection screening tests as those that are cleared, classified, or approved under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The tests must be furnished to individuals for the detection of pre-symptomatic and early-stage Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. This coverage will be effective from January 1, 2028.
