Cancer Drug Parity Act of 2025 requires cost-sharing for oral anticancer drugs to be no less favorable than for injectable drugs.
The Cancer Drug Parity Act of 2025 amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to ensure that group health plans provide cost-sharing for oral anticancer drugs on terms no less favorable than for injectable drugs. This includes prohibiting prior authorization and other utilization controls for chemotherapy. The Act also mandates that the Comptroller General study the impact of these changes on out-of-pocket costs and submit a report to Congress with recommendations. The changes will apply to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2026.
