Clarifies provisions for using existing rights-of-way for aquifer recharge without additional authorization.
This bill amends the Aquifer Recharge Flexibility Act to clarify that holders of rights-of-way, easements, permits, or other authorizations can use them for aquifer recharge without needing extra approval from the Secretary. It also waives certain compliance obligations for holders using these rights for aquifer recharge. Additionally, it requires holders to notify the Bureau of Land Management 30 days before using these rights for aquifer recharge. The bill exempts these uses from paying additional rent to the Bureau of Land Management, except for for-profit uses or entities.
