SB00365

Connecticut SB00365 establishes a bridge program for emergency treatment and recovery navigation for persons with opioid use disorder.

Connecticut SB00365 requires hospitals to treat patients presenting to the emergency department with symptoms of opioid use disorder with buprenorphine without requiring admission. It mandates that such patients be discharged with a supply of opioid antagonists and referred to local substance use disorder treatment programs. The act aims to provide immediate care and support for individuals suffering from opioid use disorder, facilitating their transition to ongoing treatment. This act takes effect on October 1, 2026.
