SB00284

Connecticut SB00284 mandates emergency power generators for multifamily housing projects in specific municipalities.

Connecticut SB00284 requires privately owned multifamily housing projects in municipalities with populations between 130,000 and 134,000 to install emergency power generators. These generators must provide at least four to twelve hours of power for heating, water, lighting, critical medical equipment, and passenger elevators. The bill applies to projects subject to a mortgage insured under the National Housing Act. This act amends the general statutes and takes effect on October 1, 2026.
