Connecticut HB05501 expands the permissible uses for town aid road grant funds to include construction, reconstruction, improvement, and maintenance of highways to increase resiliency against increased precipitation, flooding, sea level rise, and extreme heat. It also allows for plowing of snow, sanding of icy pavements, trimming and removal of trees, and installation, replacement, and maintenance of traffic signs, signals, and markings. The bill requires towns or districts to submit a report to the Commissioner of Transportation detailing the amount of funds expended for each usage.
