Amends statutes concerning the powers and duties of the Office of the Inspector General.

The bill amends statutes concerning the powers and duties of the Office of the Inspector General. It establishes the Office of the Inspector General as a separate office within the Division of Criminal Justice. The Office shall conduct investigations of peace officers, prosecute cases where a peace officer used force found to not be justifiable, and investigate failures to report deaths in custody. The Inspector General may issue subpoenas to municipalities, law enforcement units, and the Department of Correction.
